Few private clubs in the Capital Region carry the quiet prestige of The Edison Club, whose roots stretch back to the early 20th century and the industrialists and professionals who shaped the communities along the Mohawk River corridor. Rexford itself sits at the point where the Mohawk meets the Erie Canal system — a historically significant stretch of upstate New York that defined commerce and migration across the northeast. That backdrop gives the club a sense of weight and continuity that newer facilities simply cannot manufacture.
The terrain here is classic northeastern parkland: mature hardwoods, rolling topography, and the kind of turf conditions that reward a patient, ball-striking game. Autumn play in particular tends to be spectacular, when the tree canopy turns and the course feels more like a painting than a round of golf.
As a private members' club, The Edison has long prioritized a certain unhurried culture — a place where the round itself matters as much as the score. For Capital Region golfers, it remains one of the more storied addresses in the area.
