Highland sits in Oakland County's lake country, where glacial terrain shapes the landscape into rolling hills, dense hardwood stands, and the kind of natural contours that lend themselves readily to golf. The area is part of Michigan's densely populated suburban corridor northwest of Detroit, yet it retains a genuinely rural character — farms and forests pressing up against the fairways in a way you don't find closer to the city.
Prestwick Village reads as a community-anchored course, the sort of layout where members build routines around weekend morning tee times and post-round conversation carries as much weight as the scorecard. The name evokes a nod to Scottish golf tradition — Prestwick, Scotland being the birthplace of The Open Championship — though the course itself is very much a product of Michigan's inland golf culture, where the season runs hard from late April through October and players make the most of every round.
