Klub Golf Rimba Irian

Few golf courses anywhere sit against a backdrop quite like this one. Mimika is home to the Grasberg mining complex — one of the largest gold and copper operations on earth — and Klub Golf Rimba Irian exists within that industrial frontier, a course carved from the lowland rainforest of the Bird's Head region of Papua. The surrounding landscape is dense, equatorial, and genuinely remote, making this among the more unusual settings in which a round of golf can be played anywhere in Southeast Asia.
