Few private clubs in Greater Cleveland carry the mystique of Mayfield Sand Ridge. Designed by Seth Raynor and opened in 1922, the course stands as one of his finest surviving works in the Midwest — a template-driven layout that reflects Raynor's characteristic devotion to Charles Blair Macdonald's classical golf architecture philosophy. South Euclid sits on the eastern edge of Cleveland, in a part of Northeast Ohio where glacial topography created the rolling, sand-rich terrain that gives this club its name.
