Prospect Bay Country Club sits on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, occupying a peninsula that reaches into the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. The club takes its name from the bay inlet that defines the property's edges, and water is a constant presence here — not just visually, but as a genuine strategic force on a significant number of holes. Chesapeake golf has its own character: the land is flat and exposed, winds off the water shift and strengthen unpredictably, and conditions can change dramatically from front nine to back.
Grasonville itself is a small community at the Queen Anne's County end of the Bay Bridge, placing Prospect Bay within easy reach of both Baltimore and Annapolis while still feeling removed from either. The Eastern Shore's golf culture tends toward the unpretentious, with courses that reward local knowledge — particularly an understanding of how Bay breezes turn a straightforward par 4 into something more interesting.
As a private members' club, Prospect Bay is built around community and familiarity rather than resort spectacle. Regulars here learn the nuances of a course where the landscape does much of the design work.
