帯広カントリークラブ is one of Hokkaido's established inland clubs, set in Memuro-cho in the Kasai district — a farming town on the broad Tokachi Plain southeast of Obihiro city. This is big-sky agricultural country, where fields of wheat, sugar beet, and potato stretch to the horizon beneath skies that feel wider than almost anywhere else in Japan. The course occupies terrain typical of the Tokachi basin: relatively open and flat to gently rolling, shaped by the river terraces and windbreaks that define this part of eastern Hokkaido.
Playing here means contending with the honest challenges of the Tokachi climate — crisp, dry summers that produce firm, fast conditions, and a season compressed by winters harsh enough to close the course for months. That short window gives the place a focused, purposeful feel; members and visitors alike treat rounds seriously when the good weather is finite.
The surrounding Obihiro area has a quietly proud golf culture, with several well-maintained clubs serving the region's agricultural and business communities. 帯広カントリークラブ carries the character of that tradition: a serious, member-centered layout where the land itself — expansive, uncluttered, and distinctly Hokkaido — does much of the talking.
