Sommacampagna sits on the Veronese plain just inland from the southern shore of Lake Garda, one of northern Italy's most storied stretches of golfing territory. The area's mild microclimate, moderated by the lake, supports lush fairways and an extended season uncommon this far north in the peninsula. Verona itself lies only minutes to the east, meaning a round here can sit comfortably inside a broader itinerary that includes one of Italy's great cultural cities.
The name Appoggio — Italian for "support" or "lean," with connotations of a resting place — hints at the unhurried spirit the course projects. The Garda hinterland has attracted golf development for decades, and courses in this corridor tend to reward a thoughtful, patient game rather than raw power, often routing through agricultural land that gives way to views of the Lessini hills to the north.
As a full 18-hole layout in this well-established golfing zone, Appoggio offers visitors and locals alike a genuinely Italian round — sociable, scenic, and conducted at a pace that leaves room for the post-round pleasures the region does better than almost anywhere else.
