Dominion Valley Country Club sits in the rolling piedmont country of Prince William County, about 40 miles west of Washington, D.C., in a part of Northern Virginia where the suburban sprawl gradually gives way to horse farms, Civil War-era roads, and the long ridgelines of the Bull Run Mountains. The club is part of the Dominion Valley master-planned community, and the golf course serves as both the recreational centerpiece and the visual spine of the neighborhood — the kind of layout where fairways thread between the homes of the people who play it most.
The surrounding terrain gives the design room to breathe, with natural elevation changes and mature tree cover that are characteristic of Virginia's Piedmont transition zone. Conditions here shift noticeably with the seasons: genuine winters, humid summers, and spectacular fall foliage that can make an October round as much about the scenery as the scorecard.
