As a shorter layout, Haystack Mountain plays to a wide range of abilities, making it a natural choice for families, beginners finding their footing, or experienced players looking to sharpen their short game without a five-hour commitment. Colorado's high-altitude air means the ball travels farther than golfers from sea level expect, which adds its own wrinkle to club selection even on shorter holes.
