Club de Golf Las Ramblas de Orihuela

Las Ramblas de Orihuela sits on the Costa Blanca's sun-baked inland edge, part of the dense cluster of courses that developed across the Vega Baja del Segura during the 1990s golf boom that transformed this corner of Alicante province. Designed by José Canales and opened in 1993, the layout winds through a residential urbanization, as so many Spanish costal courses of that era do, but the terrain gives it more visual interest than many of its neighbours — rolling ground, mature pines, and views toward the hills that separate the coast from the Murcia border.

The course has built a loyal following among the large Northern European expat and tourist community that populates this stretch of the Costa Blanca. It plays as a genuine test rather than a holiday pushover, with tight driving corridors and greens that reward approach play. Water comes into play on several holes, adding both visual drama and a real strategic dimension.

Orihuela itself is one of the most historically rich towns in the region — a cathedral city with a medieval core that predates most of its golfing neighbours by several centuries. Playing here means you're in the real inland Alicante, away from the beach strip, where the light is sharper and the landscape drier and more characterful.
