Botkyrka GK sits in Grödinge, a rural municipality about 30 kilometres south of Stockholm in the lake-studded corridor that stretches toward Södermanland. The club is part of a dense and enthusiastic Stockholm-area golf culture — the Swedish capital's commuter belt supports dozens of clubs, and Botkyrka occupies quiet, forested terrain typical of the region: rolling glacially shaped land, mixed pine and birch woodland, and the kind of long summer evenings that make a late-season twilight round genuinely magical.
The course plays through a natural Scandinavian landscape where the woodland is always present and errant shots are genuinely penalised. Swedish parkland courses of this character tend to reward accuracy and course management over raw power, and the firm summer conditions common to this part of Södermanland can produce fast, running fairways that add a strategic layer most visitors don't anticipate.
Botkyrka is a members' club in the traditional Swedish mold — community-rooted, well-maintained by dedicated local membership, and welcoming enough to visitors to make it a worthwhile detour for anyone exploring golf south of Stockholm.
