Mimosa Golf & Country Club occupies a striking and historically loaded piece of ground — the former Clark Air Base, the massive U.S. military installation north of Manila that was dramatically abandoned following the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo. That catastrophic event buried much of the base under volcanic ash, and the subsequent redevelopment transformed the zone into Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone, with Mimosa emerging as one of the anchor leisure destinations. Playing here carries an unmistakable sense of a landscape reclaimed and reinvented.
The course winds through what is now the Mimosa Leisure Estate, a resort enclave within Clark that includes hotels and a casino complex. The layout benefits from the flat, wide terrain typical of the former base, though mature trees and thoughtful design work give it genuine definition. The climate here in Pampanga province is hot and humid for much of the year, with the dry season from November through April offering the most comfortable conditions for a round.
As a private members' club serving the diplomatic, business, and expatriate communities concentrated around Clark and nearby Angeles City, Mimosa carries a polished, resort-influenced character that distinguishes it from Manila's older establishment clubs.
