The Ozarks have a way of making golf feel earned. Buffalo Ridge Springs Course sits in the Hollister area of southern Missouri, a landscape shaped by karst topography, cedar and hardwood ridges, and the dramatic elevation swings that define Table Rock Lake country. This is big, rugged terrain — the kind where a course can move across ravines and rocky outcroppings without ever feeling manufactured.
Hollister sits just across the river from Branson, which means Buffalo Ridge exists within one of Missouri's most concentrated resort corridors. Visitors are already primed for an experience, and golf in this corner of the Ozarks tends to deliver one. The natural contours of the land do the heavy lifting, and courses here rarely need to be tricked up to challenge or impress.
A par-72 layout in this setting almost certainly rewards course management over power — sidehill lies, elevation changes, and variable wind off the ridges make the Ozarks a thinking player's landscape more than a bomber's playground.
