The Circolo Golf degli Ulivi di Sanremo sits on the terraced hillsides above one of the Italian Riviera's most celebrated resort towns, where the Ligurian Alps push almost directly into the Mediterranean. Sanremo is known internationally for its flower markets, its famous song festival, and a string of Belle Époque villas — and the golf club, one of the oldest on the Italian Riviera, carries that same faded-grandeur atmosphere. Olive groves give the club its name and its character, threading through the layout and framing almost every shot.
The course plays across sloping, uneven terrain, and the relatively low par reflects a design built around precision and placement rather than raw distance. Tight lies, elevation changes, and the constant presence of ancient olive trees demand a thoughtful short game and careful course management from the first hole onward.
For visiting golfers, the appeal goes well beyond the round itself. The setting — coastal light, terraced hillsides, the scent of the Mediterranean — makes this the kind of place where a bogey is easily forgiven.
