Mt. Horeb sits in the Driftless Area of southwestern Wisconsin, a landscape that escaped the flattening effects of the last glaciers and was left instead with steep ridges, wooded coulees, and rolling valleys carved by small streams. It's some of the most visually dramatic terrain in the upper Midwest, and it gives golf courses here a character that's rare in a region more often associated with flatter, agricultural land. The name Norsk is a nod to the area's strong Norwegian immigrant heritage — Mt. Horeb is sometimes called the "Troll Capital of Wisconsin" and takes genuine pride in its Scandinavian roots.
