Carved out of the forests of northwest Montana's Cabinet Mountains region, Cabinet View Golf Club occupies some genuinely dramatic country. Libby sits along the Kootenai River in Lincoln County, one of the more remote corners of the lower 48 — the kind of place where elk might share the tree line and morning fog settles thick in the river valley. Golf here is inseparable from the surrounding wilderness.
As a community golf club serving a small, tight-knit Montana town, Cabinet View carries the character of a place where the sport belongs to the locals — unpretentious, accessible, and rooted in genuine affection for the game. An 18-hole, par-72 layout at this latitude and elevation means distinct seasonal conditions: firm fairways in the dry heat of a Montana summer, soft ground in spring, and a short but vivid playing season bookended by mountain weather that doesn't negotiate.
