Springfields Golf Club sits in Chikusei, a quietly agricultural city in western Ibaraki Prefecture, where the Kanto Plain stretches wide and flat toward the Tsukuba highlands to the east. This part of Ibaraki is serious golf country — the prefecture hosts more golf courses per capita than almost anywhere else in Japan, a legacy of the 1980s bubble era when courses were carved out of nearly every hillside and rice-field edge in the region. PGM, one of Japan's largest golf management companies, operates this facility as part of a nationwide network that emphasizes consistent conditioning and accessible tee times for everyday players.
The flat to gently rolling terrain typical of western Ibaraki means Springfields rewards accuracy and course management over raw power, and the wide Kanto skies give the course an open, unhurried feel compared to the more mountainous layouts farther north in the prefecture.
As a PGM-managed daily-fee course, it functions as a reliable home course for local players across Chikusei, Yuki, and the surrounding communities — well-maintained, professionally run, and free of the membership mystique that defines so many of its neighbors.
