Few college golf facilities in the country carry the pedigree of the Warren Golf Course, which opened in 2000 and was designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw — the same partnership behind Sand Hills, Friar's Head, and Bandon Trails. The routing was crafted to evoke the golden-age naturalistic ideal: minimal earth-moving, holes that follow the land's contours, and a deliberate restraint that lets the property speak for itself. Since opening, it has consistently drawn rankings recognition as one of the finest university-affiliated courses in America.
The course occupies a property that threads through mature hardwoods and open meadows just north of the iconic campus, and the natural landscape of northern Indiana — flat glacial terrain broken by stands of oak and gentle swales — turns out to be a surprisingly rich canvas. The Coore-Crenshaw team found movement in the land that a less patient design team might have bulldozed flat.
This is where the Fighting Irish men's and women's golf programs train and compete, giving it a genuine athletic seriousness beneath its quiet beauty. Visiting golfers can experience a layout that asks real strategic questions without ever feeling manufactured or forced.
