Few golf courses in the New York metropolitan area carry as much visual drama as Trump National Golf Club Westchester. The club sits in Briarcliff Manor, a village in the heart of Westchester County, where the rolling, wooded terrain of the lower Hudson Valley provides a setting genuinely different from the flat, exposed courses of Long Island or the mid-Atlantic shore. The property unfolds across mature hardwood forests and dramatic elevation changes that define so much of golf in this part of New York State.
The course was originally developed in the late 1990s on the former site of Briar Hall Country Club, with Jim Fazio handling the redesign into what became a high-end private facility. The transformation was substantial — waterfalls, sculpted bunkering, and manicured presentation became the calling card, reflecting the maximalist design philosophy the Trump Organization brought to its portfolio of properties.
Westchester County has long supported one of the densest concentrations of private golf clubs in the country, and Trump National sits at the upper end of that market: a member experience built around polish, scale, and a course that rewards accuracy through tight, tree-lined corridors.
