Few golf courses in South Asia carry the institutional weight of Bhatiary Golf and Country Club. Situated within the cantonment area outside Chittagong, the club has long been tied to Bangladesh's military establishment — a heritage shared by several of the country's most storied layouts — which gives it a formality and sense of tradition that sets it apart from the civilian clubs of Dhaka.
Chittagong itself occupies one of the more dramatic settings in Bangladesh: a hilly, densely forested port city where the Chattogram Hill Tracts begin their roll southeastward toward Myanmar. That topography is genuinely unusual for a country that is otherwise relentlessly flat, and it shapes the round here in ways that courses on the Ganges-Brahmaputra delta simply cannot offer. Elevation changes, wooded corridors, and the lush green that Chittagong's monsoon climate sustains most of the year give the course a character the scorecard cannot convey.
Access tends to follow cantonment protocols — visitors should expect to navigate guest and membership arrangements before arrival — but for those who make the effort, this is among the more atmospherically distinctive rounds available in Bangladesh.
