Buckenderra Holiday Village sits on the eastern shore of Lake Eucumbene, the vast reservoir at the heart of the Snowy Mountains Hydro-Electric Scheme — one of Australia's great engineering achievements of the 20th century. The lake itself is enormous, holding roughly 9 times the volume of Sydney Harbour, and the surrounding Snowy Mountains landscape is genuinely dramatic: high-country grasslands, snow gum woodland, and big alpine skies that shift mood quickly. The holiday village is a long-established caravan and camping destination, popular with families, trout fishermen, and skiers making the most of proximity to Jindabyne and the Kosciuszko National Park resorts.
The pitch and putt here is very much part of that relaxed holiday-park tradition — a compact layout designed for fun rather than challenge, where kids get their first taste of the game and adults shake off a morning's fishing without any pressure about handicap or dress code.
Expect a short, unhurried round in genuinely beautiful high-country surrounds, with lake views and clean mountain air doing most of the heavy lifting.
