Ledge Point Country Club sits about 90 kilometres north of Perth, in the small coastal settlement of Ledge Point — a quiet community that exists largely because of fishing, beach life, and this golf club. The course has long served as the social heart of a tight-knit holiday and weekender community, drawing Perth escapees who make the drive up Indian Ocean Drive for a round in genuinely fresh coastal air.
The layout occupies classic Swan Coastal Plain terrain: flat, sandy ground threaded through coastal scrub and low banksia woodland. This is pure Limestone Coast country, and the sandy subsoil means the course drains quickly and plays firm and fast for much of the year — conditions that reward ground game thinking rather than aerial target golf. The prevailing afternoon sea breeze off the Indian Ocean is a constant factor and effectively reshapes the challenge of the back nine depending on which way it swings.
As a members' club serving a small community, Ledge Point carries the relaxed, unpretentious character of regional Western Australian golf — the kind of place where visitors are welcomed warmly and the 19th hole conversation tends to outlast the round itself.
