Golf Club Davos

Few golf courses in the world ask you to play at nearly 1,560 meters above sea level, but Golf Club Davos has done exactly that since 1929, making it one of the highest-altitude courses in Europe. Laid out across the Landwasser valley floor, the course sits within a landscape better known for its ski slopes and the World Economic Forum than for fairways — yet golf here feels entirely natural, framed by the steep forested ridges and open Alpine meadows that define the Graubünden region.

The elevation has a real effect on how the ball behaves: the thinner air adds meaningful distance to every shot, a novelty that rewards attentive play. The design works with the valley's natural contours rather than against them, and the surrounding scenery — snowcapped peaks visible from virtually every hole — makes concentration a genuine challenge.

Davos itself is a cosmopolitan mountain town with a long tradition of welcoming international visitors, and the course reflects that spirit. The relatively short summer season only sharpens the experience, giving rounds here a sense of occasion that flatland golf rarely matches.
