Jerilderie sits in the flat sheep and wheat country of the Riverina, a long drive southeast of Sydney and roughly midway between Wagga Wagga and the Victorian border. It's the kind of town that most Australians know only from the history books — Ned Kelly and his gang famously held the entire town for 2 days in 1879, cutting telegraph lines and locking the police in their own cells.
