Doha Golf Club stands as one of the Middle East's most recognized tournament venues, having served as the longtime home of the Qatar Masters — a European Tour event that drew top-ranked players to the Gulf for over two decades. The course was designed by Peter Harradine and opened in 1997, and its lush, manicured fairways cutting through the desert landscape became something of a symbol for the region's broader ambitions in international sport.
The design is a study in contrast: immaculate green turf maintained against an arid backdrop, with water features and bunkering that reward precise shotmaking over raw power. The course plays firm and fast when conditions demand it, and the Gulf's persistent wind — shifting and unpredictable off the surrounding flatlands — turns even familiar holes into genuinely different tests from round to round.
Doha is Qatar's capital and the country's commercial and cultural center, a city that has grown dramatically in the decades since the club opened. The club itself has remained a landmark of the city's golf scene, and for visitors to the region it represents the most established and polished golf experience Qatar has to offer.
