Few corners of Massachusetts feel more rooted in place than Marstons Mills, a quiet village sitting at the geographic heart of Cape Cod. Olde Barnstable Fairgrounds takes its name from the agricultural history of this stretch of Barnstable County, and the course carries that unhurried, grounded character throughout its layout. It occupies land that speaks to the Cape's working past rather than its resort-postcard present.
Playing golf on Cape Cod means contending with the peninsula's particular personality: sandy, well-draining soils that keep the turf firm and fast even after rain, scrub oak and pitch pine lining the corridors, and a maritime light that shifts the mood of the course from morning to afternoon.
