Moss Creek is a private residential community occupying the northern end of Hilton Head Island, and its golf operation has long been one of the quieter, more intimate sides of a resort island better known for its high-profile resort and daily-fee tracks. The North Course is 1 of 2 layouts within the community, and both were designed by Tom Fazio — early work that helped establish his reputation in the Lowcountry before he became one of the most sought-after architects in the country. The North Course winds through marshland, towering pines, and the kind of live-oak canopy that defines coastal South Carolina golf at its most atmospheric.
A note on geography: the course is physically located in South Carolina, not Georgia, despite how it may appear in some listings — Hilton Head Island sits just across the Calibogue Sound from Daufuskie Island, well inside the South Carolina border.
