Golf Santa Ponça III is the third and most understated of the Santa Ponça complex's trio of courses, sitting in the hills above the resort town of Santa Ponça on Mallorca's southwest coast. The broader complex was developed during the Balearics' golf boom of the 1980s and 1990s, when the island was positioning itself as a serious year-round golf destination rather than simply a beach holiday stop. While Santa Ponça I tends to attract the headlines — it has hosted multiple Open de Baleares and Challenge Tour events — the third course operates at a quieter register, offering a more relaxed round away from competitive pressures.
The landscape here is quintessentially Mallorcan: scrub pine, red earth, and the occasional glimpse toward the Mediterranean through the hills of the Calvià municipality. The terrain is more intimate in scale than the flagship course, which suits golfers who want to enjoy the island's climate and scenery without the stern examination of a championship layout.
Calvià itself is one of Mallorca's most golf-dense municipalities, home to several courses concentrated along this stretch of the southwest coast. Visitors typically combine a round here with the wider Santa Ponça facilities, making it a natural complement to the island's well-established golf tourism infrastructure.
