Few courses in the Greater Toronto Area have generated quite as much buzz as Eagles Nest. Designed by Doug Carrick and opened in 2004, it quickly earned a reputation as one of Ontario's premier daily-fee experiences — a course built with genuine ambition, where the design asks real questions and rewards sharp ball-striking. Carrick shaped the routing around Maple's rolling terrain, incorporating dramatic elevation changes, native grasses, and water features that give the layout a feel more akin to a high-end private club than a public track.
Maple sits in Vaughan, just north of Toronto along the Highway 400 corridor, where the Oak Ridges Moraine begins to assert itself in the landscape. That topography gives Carrick something to work with, and Eagles Nest uses it fully — this is not a flat, suburban grind but a course with genuine visual drama and strategic variety hole to hole.
The par-74 rating is worth noting in context: the extra par 5s aren't a concession to distance but part of the design's rhythm, giving the course a distinctive scoring character that sets it apart from standard layouts across the region.
