The Flint Elks Golf Club carries the DNA of mid-century Midwestern fraternal golf — a members' course built around the social rhythms of the Elks Lodge, where the game was always as much about community as competition. Courses of this tradition tend to be honest, unpretentious layouts that reward steady ball-striking over flash, and they've historically served as the everyday golfing home for working members rather than destination players.
Grand Blanc sits in Genesee County, just south of Flint, in a part of Michigan that knows its golf. The greater Flint area has a long blue-collar sporting culture, and its golf courses reflect that — straightforward, accessible, and proud of it. The terrain here is typical of mid-Michigan: gently rolling glacial topography, hardwood trees lining the fairways, and a season that runs from snowmelt through autumn color before the lakes and ponds freeze over again.
As a par-72 layout, the course offers a complete test across all the standard formats — stroke play, match play, weekend Elks member events — in a setting that values belonging as much as birdies.
