Jeollanam-do has a quietly developing golf scene, with courses spread across its coastal counties that attract players from Gwangju and beyond looking to escape the city. West Ocean's location makes it a regional destination rather than a national marquee stop, but for golfers who appreciate an atmospheric seaside round well off the usual circuit, that relative obscurity is part of the appeal.
