Sveti Martin na Muri sits in the far northwest corner of Croatia — not Italy, despite the "IT" tag — in the Međimurje region, where the Mura River forms the border with Slovenia and Hungary. This is one of Croatia's most underrated corners: flat to gently rolling agricultural lowlands, thermal springs, and a landscape that feels closer to central Europe than the Adriatic coast most people associate with the country. The course is part of the broader Terme Sveti Martin resort complex, a thermal spa and wellness destination that draws visitors from across the region, and golf here fits that same unhurried, restorative character.
The layout occupies the open parkland terrain typical of Međimurje, with mature trees framing many holes and the general flatness of the Pannonian Plain keeping the walking manageable. It is designed primarily for resort guests and regional players rather than as a tournament venue, and the atmosphere reflects that — social, relaxed, and suited to those combining a round with the spa facilities on site.
For visiting golfers, the appeal is as much the setting as the golf itself. Međimurje is Croatia's smallest and arguably most Central European county, famous locally for its wines, thermal baths, and a slower pace of life that the rest of the country often forgets it has.
