Few courses in England can claim a setting quite like this one. Wrangaton sits high on the southern fringes of Dartmoor, where the moorland rolls away in every direction and the horizon feels enormous. The course occupies genuine upland terrain — exposed, windswept, and visually dramatic in a way that no parkland layout can replicate. The weather here is moorland weather: it changes fast, it comes from any direction, and it is very much part of the challenge.

The club has been part of the South Devon golfing landscape for well over a century, one of a handful of courses that genuinely earns the description of moorland golf in this part of the country. Playing here is less about manicured surfaces and more about reading the land, managing the wind, and accepting that the course will push back.
