Few courses announce their regional identity as directly as Diamondback, which takes its name from the diamondback rattlesnake native to the Carolina coastal plain. Loris sits in Horry County, just inland from the Grand Strand — the same golf-dense corridor that makes Myrtle Beach one of the most visited golf destinations in the world. That proximity puts Diamondback within easy reach of the resort traffic while serving a more local, everyday clientele than the flashier resort tracks closer to the coast.
