Few American golf clubs carry the mystique of Seminole. Designed by Donald Ross and opened in 1929, it occupies a narrow strip of Atlantic coastline in Juno Beach, just north of Palm Beach, where the prevailing ocean winds transform what might otherwise read as a benign layout into one of the most demanding and strategically nuanced tests in the country. Ross shaped the land with characteristic intelligence — crowned greens, subtle contours, and a routing that ensures the wind is almost never behind you on the holes that matter most.
The club has long been a gathering place for serious golfers and a quiet arbiter of the game's standards. Ben Hogan famously used Seminole as his primary preparation ground before the 1953 Masters, the season in which he won 3 of the 4 majors he entered. The club hosted the PGA Cup and for decades held a celebrated pro-am, but its reputation rests less on its tournament résumé than on the sheer quality of what Ross built.
Seminole remains intensely private and fiercely protective of that privacy — it does not court attention or rank-chasing, which only deepens its legend. Playing here is, by any measure, a rare privilege.
