San Sebastián

San Sebastián sits in the Zona Norte corridor of Greater Buenos Aires, the stretch of the Río de la Plata coast that has quietly become one of Argentina's richest concentrations of private golf. The club is part of a broader country-club boom that reshaped this low-lying pampa landscape from the 1990s onward, when gated communities with integrated golf courses multiplied across the Tigre and Escobar districts. Zelaya itself sits in that outer ring, where the flat terrain opens up and the humid subtropical climate keeps the turf dense through long, warm summers.

The course plays across the characteristic topography of the region — essentially flat with water features serving as the primary defense, drainage canals and lakes threading through the layout in the manner common to pampa-zone courses. That low relief puts a premium on shot placement rather than elevation changes, and the prevailing winds off the estuary can shift the challenge considerably from one round to the next.
