Few golf destinations in Washington State offer quite the backdrop that greets you at Leavenworth Golf Course. The course sits in the Wenatchee River valley, framed by the peaks of the Cascade Range, in a town that has famously reinvented itself as a Bavarian-themed village — one of the Pacific Northwest's more unlikely tourist draws. That alpine scenery isn't incidental to the round; it's the dominant presence throughout, and the surrounding ponderosa pines and mountain ridgelines give every hole a sense of scale that flatland courses simply can't manufacture.
Leavenworth operates as a public course serving both locals and the steady stream of visitors who come to the region for skiing, hiking, and wine touring in nearby Chelan County. That community-course character means a relaxed atmosphere and approachable play for a wide range of handicaps.
The Cascades bring real weather into play — afternoon winds can funnel through the valley, and the mountain climate means a shorter season than courses on the west side of the mountains. Spring and fall rounds here, when the larches and aspens turn, are genuinely hard to beat.
