Wyoming sits in the middle of Chisago County, about 35 miles north of Saint Paul along the St. Croix River corridor — a stretch of Minnesota defined by glacial lakes, rolling woodland terrain, and the kind of open, unhurried countryside that has quietly supported a solid regional golf culture for generations. Greenwood Golf Links sits within this landscape, and the "Links" designation in its name hints at an openness to the layout — fairways likely shaped by the natural contours of the land rather than forced into something artificial.
As a course in a smaller exurban community, Greenwood almost certainly serves as a local anchor: the kind of place where the same faces show up on Saturday mornings, where juniors learn the game, and where a round rarely comes with the formality or expense of a resort destination. That accessibility is its own kind of value.
Minnesota's season runs roughly May through October, and courses in this corridor tend to play firm and fast by late summer, with cool mornings and genuine fall color making September and early October particularly rewarding times to visit.
