스카이72 Golf Club's Haneul ("Sky") Course is one of 4 distinct layouts spread across a remarkable golfing complex built on reclaimed land adjacent to Incheon International Airport. Opened in 2005, Sky72 was designed to make a statement — a world-class facility rising from land carved out of tidal flats on Yeongjong Island, with the constant visual drama of wide-body aircraft on final approach serving as an unlikely but unforgettable backdrop. The Haneul Course is generally regarded as the most demanding of the 4 tracks at the complex, a championship-length test with generous but firm fairways and greens that reward precision over power.
Sky72 became a genuine fixture on the Asian Tour calendar, hosting the Korean Open and drawing international fields to what is, conceptually, one of the more unusual tournament venues in Asia — flat, exposed, and subject to the coastal winds that roll in off the Yellow Sea without obstruction.
Yeongjong Island's landscape offers little shelter, which defines how every round here plays. Club selection shifts constantly as the breeze shifts direction, and the openness that makes the course feel stark can punish a loose swing in ways the scorecard alone doesn't communicate.
