Crowfield Golf Club sits in Goose Creek, a city that grew up in the shadow of Charleston and Joint Base Charleston, forming part of the dense suburban sprawl of Berkeley County. The course occupies land that was once part of the old Crowfield Plantation, one of the great Colonial-era rice plantations of the South Carolina Lowcountry — and that heritage gives the layout a character few suburban courses can claim. Ancient live oaks, remnants of the original plantation landscape, frame many of the holes and lend the property a quiet gravitas that goes well beyond its everyday public status.
The Lowcountry terrain means flat, wetland-threaded land, and water hazards are a recurring presence throughout the round. The course plays as a traditional parkland layout where strategic placement off the tee matters more than pure power.
Goose Creek sits squarely in Charleston's orbit, which means year-round golf in a humid subtropical climate, with the heat and afternoon storms of summer giving way to genuinely pleasant conditions from October through April.
