Taean County sits at the western tip of Chungcheongnam-do, a peninsula jutting into the Yellow Sea where the coastline fractures into hundreds of small islands and tidal flats. The region is best known for Taean Haean National Park, a protected stretch of dunes, pine forest, and sandy beach that gives this corner of Korea a character quite different from the inland resort corridors farther east. Golf courses here tend to use that coastal landscape deliberately, and Stone Beach Country Club — 스톤비치컨트리클럽 — takes its name directly from the rocky shoreline that defines the area's identity.
The Yellow Sea setting brings genuine exposure to wind, which along this coast can shift direction and strengthen quickly, turning a manageable scorecard into something far more demanding. Pine-lined corridors and coastal vegetation frame many layouts in the region, offering both visual definition and the kind of rough that punishes offline tee shots.
As a country club in a destination-style coastal zone, Stone Beach serves both local members and visitors making the roughly 2-hour drive from Seoul, drawn by the seaside atmosphere that the capital's inland courses simply cannot replicate.
