Peuramaa Golf sits in the forested landscape of Kirkkonummi, a municipality on Finland's southern coast roughly 30 kilometers west of Helsinki along the shore of the Gulf of Finland. This corner of Uusimaa has a deeply Nordic character — granite outcroppings, dense pine and birch stands, and a coastline that keeps the air cool well into summer. The Helsinki metropolitan region supports one of Finland's most active golf communities, and Kirkkonummi has become a genuine destination within that scene.
The course works with the natural terrain of the area rather than against it, as is common in Scandinavian golf design — routing through woodland corridors where accuracy off the tee matters considerably more than raw power. The name "Peuramaa" translates roughly to "deer land," and the wildlife-rich surroundings give rounds here a quiet, unhurried atmosphere that separates the experience from the busier clubs closer to the capital.
For visiting golfers based in Helsinki, Peuramaa offers an easy escape into proper Finnish countryside golf — the kind of round where the setting does as much work as the design, and where the pace of the natural world has a way of recalibrating your priorities by the back 9.
