Few golf courses in Arizona play against a backdrop quite like this one. Cerbat Cliffs takes its name from the Cerbat Mountains that frame the northeastern edge of Kingman, and the rugged, high-desert terrain shapes nearly every hole on the property. At roughly 3,300 feet of elevation, the air is thinner and the ball flies noticeably farther than it would at lower-lying Arizona layouts — a small but satisfying bonus for visiting players expecting the usual desert math.
Kingman itself sits at the crossroads of old Route 66 and Interstate 40 in Mohave County, a working western town with deep railroad and mining roots and none of the resort polish of Scottsdale or Sedona. The golf here reflects that honestly. Cerbat Cliffs is a municipal course operated by the city, meaning it functions as the community's everyday game — accessible, unpretentious, and genuinely used.
The Mojave Desert vegetation — creosote, Joshua trees, and scrubby high-desert brush — defines the visual character of the round, and the Cerbat range looming in the distance gives the course a scale and grandeur that the scorecard simply cannot convey.
