Victor Hills has been a fixture of the Finger Lakes golf scene for decades, operating as one of the region's most accessible and well-regarded daily-fee facilities. The East Course is 1 of 2 18-hole layouts on the property, giving golfers the option to mix and match rounds or return on consecutive days for a different test — a setup that has made Victor Hills a reliable hub for local leagues, outings, and weekend regulars across the greater Rochester area.
Victor itself sits in Ontario County, just southeast of Rochester in the rolling terrain that defines the western Finger Lakes. The land here has genuine topographic personality — modest but meaningful elevation changes, mature tree corridors, and the kind of open-sky views that remind you how much sky there is above upstate New York. Seasons are sharply felt, which compresses the playing calendar and tends to intensify how much locals value the months when the course is in good shape.
A par-71 layout signals at least some deviation from a purely symmetrical design — expect at least a couple of par-4s where the architect leaned on length or geometry rather than giving you a second par-5 to chase. Victor Hills rewards regular play; the more you know it, the more it gives back.
