Golf de Sénart

Few courses sit quite so close to the edge of one of Europe's great capital cities while still feeling genuinely removed from it. Golf de Sénart occupies the southern fringe of the Forêt de Sénart, a royal hunting forest that stretches across the Essonne département and has shaped this corner of the Île-de-France for centuries. The woodland setting is the course's defining character — tall oaks and beeches frame almost every hole, and the forest floor gives the layout a quiet, enclosed atmosphere that the Paris suburbs rarely manage to provide.

Saint-Pierre-du-Perray sits roughly 30 kilometres south of central Paris, part of a cluster of new towns developed in the 1970s around Sénart. The course emerged from that same era of development and serves a large catchment of golfers who might otherwise struggle to find accessible, quality play this close to the capital.

The layout rewards accuracy over raw power. Tight tree-lined corridors demand honest ball-striking, and the undulating terrain of the forest edge keeps scoring honest throughout the round.
