Few courses in the New York metropolitan area carry the prestige of Hudson National. Designed by Tom Fazio and opened in 1996, the private club sits high above the Hudson River in Westchester County, and the views it commands are among the most dramatic of any course in the region. Fazio carved the layout through heavily wooded terrain on land that rises and falls sharply, producing a round that feels genuinely removed from the suburban sprawl below — a rare quality this close to the city.
The course plays as a par 70, and Fazio used that canvas to pack in a collection of demanding, memorable holes rather than padding the card with routine par 5s. Elevation changes are constant, shotmaking is rewarded, and the tree-lined corridors demand accuracy off the tee. Members consistently rank it among the finest private experiences in New York.
Croton-on-Hudson sits about an hour north of Midtown along the Metro-North Hudson Line, deep in Westchester's rolling, forested countryside — a landscape that gives Hudson National much of its rugged, almost mountain-like character.
