Culver sits at the edge of Lake Maxinkuckee, one of Indiana's largest and most storied natural lakes, and the town carries a quiet, unhurried character that sets it apart from the agricultural flatlands surrounding it. The lake has drawn summer visitors and seasonal residents for well over a century, and golf has long been part of that leisure culture. Mystic Hills fits naturally into that landscape — a course shaped by the rolling, wooded terrain that gives this corner of Marshall County more topographic personality than most of Indiana can claim.
The "Hills" in the name is earned. This part of the state sits within a glacially sculpted zone where moraines and kettles create genuine elevation change, and a layout here would work with rises, drops, and doglegs that a flat-state course simply cannot offer. Par 71 suggests the routing likely trades one of the conventional par 5s for something shorter or more strategic in its place.
For golfers accustomed to pancake-flat Midwest tracks, Mystic Hills offers a legitimate change of pace — a course where terrain does real work, and where a good walk is very much part of the appeal.
