Missouri City sits in Fort Bend County, just southwest of Houston, where the suburban sprawl of one of America's fastest-growing metro areas meets the flat coastal plain of southeast Texas. The landscape here is classic Gulf Coast low country — broad skies, persistent heat and humidity for much of the year, and the kind of terrain where course designers work with water, elevation changes in the land itself being hard to come by. Golf is woven deeply into this corridor; Fort Bend County has produced more than its share of serious players, and demand for quality courses has grown alongside the population.
Sienna Golf Club serves the Sienna master-planned community, one of the larger residential developments in the Houston suburbs, which means it functions as both a neighborhood amenity and a destination for golfers coming out from the city. Courses in these settings tend to be well-maintained and approachable, built to see consistent play from a wide range of handicaps.
The Houston area's golf season is effectively year-round — winters are mild enough to play comfortably most days, and the long summers, while demanding, keep the fairways green and the tee sheets full. For golfers in the southwest Houston orbit, Sienna represents a local option that avoids the trek into the city entirely.
