Saskatchewan's prairie landscape doesn't immediately suggest resort golf, but Oasis Golf Resort in Perdue makes a genuine case for the category. The small farming community sits in the broad, open plains west of Saskatoon, where the horizon stretches in every direction and the wind is a near-constant presence — a factor that reshapes the challenge of any round here far more than the yardage alone suggests.
Prairie courses have their own distinct character: the light is extraordinary, the skies enormous, and the turf conditions are shaped by short growing seasons and sharp seasonal swings. What they sometimes lack in dramatic elevation change, they compensate for with exposure — there's nowhere to hide from the elements on an open Saskatchewan layout.
As a resort destination in this part of the province, Oasis serves both traveling golfers and the local farm-country community that dots this stretch of Highway 16 corridor. For visitors making their way through central Saskatchewan, it offers a reason to pull off and play rather than simply pass through.
