Kungälv-Kode Golfklubb sits in the low, open farmland of Kode parish, roughly halfway between Gothenburg and Kungälv along the western coast of Sweden. This corner of Västra Götaland is classic Bohuslän country — flat to gently rolling agricultural terrain interspersed with granite outcroppings, wetlands, and stands of birch and pine that soften the edges of the layout. The coastal climate keeps conditions mild by Swedish standards, but wind is a constant presence and changes how virtually every hole plays.
The club draws its membership from both the nearby market town of Kungälv — a place with deep Viking-age roots at the confluence of the Göta and Nordre rivers — and from Gothenburg's northern suburbs, giving it the feel of a genuine community club rather than a destination resort. Rounds here tend to be unhurried, with an engaged local membership that takes its golf seriously.
For visitors making their way through western Sweden, Kungälv-Kode offers a grounded, authentically Scandinavian round: straightforward hospitality, a course that rewards local knowledge of the wind, and the quiet satisfaction of playing well away from any tourist circuit.
